When we took over the pub in November 2014, we wanted to make it a really friendly place to meet for something good to eat or drink, with great service and a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. We think that’s what a great pub is all about. We want to make the Locals and Visitors feel equally welcome whether their having a local ale or a bite to eat.
So, we’ve deliberately kept the original features of this beautiful building intact, like the old exposed timbers in the walls and ceiling, the stunning fireplace in the bar, and added some lovely new things like comfy Chesterfield sofas and armchairs, new tables in the bar, all these things give the pub a really homely feel.
We have a regularly changing seasonal menu with good home-cooked food fresh from the kitchen of our talented head chef James Walker. Book a table for dinner in the restaurant or eat at the bar.
We also have real ales, well kept beers and a great choice of honestly-priced wines, with service that’s pitched just right.
You’ll feel so at home, you won’t want to leave.
